 The TUC carries out a bi-ennial survey of health and safety representatives to gain an insight into the key occupational health and safety concerns in their workplaces. The 2016 findings show increasing numbers of reps reporting concerns relating to psychological risk as opposed to physical, with stress, bullying, harassment and overwork now outstripping physical factors such as musculoskeletal disorders and slips trips and falls as the main issues being dealt with by health and safety reps. This report is a vital resurce for union health and safety reps and Scottish Hazards would urge reps to map their own workplaces, identify health and safety concerns and develop organising campaigns to grow your unions presence in the workplace as well as creating safer and healthier work environments.
