International Workers’ Memorial Day

Our research indicates that, in Scotland, more than 10 people die each day as a result of work-related incidents and illness.

Many die because their employer has decided that safety was not a priority.

International Workers’ Memorial Day is held annually on the 28th of April. This internationally recognised day is¬†to remember all people who have died through work and to refresh our resolve to fight for safe and healthy¬†working conditions for working people in Scotland and throughout the world.

Events are held throughout Scotland, photographs from 2018 IWMD events can be found here or via the STUC’s International Workers’ Memorial Day Events Facebook page

For details of t-shirts, posters, ribbons, stickers, etc available for use around IWMD, contact Hilda Palmer of the UK Hazards Campaign.
